Sponsorship Opportunities

Need for Sponsorships

Crossroads is regularly funded by leading foundations and corporations. But because we were a family foundation for many years, Crossroads still operates in relative anonymity among the general Pittsburgh population. That's why the celebrity involvement in "Are You Smarter" coupled with meaningful corporate sponsorships will play such an important role in not only helping us raise money for our important cause - but to also increase awareness of our mission in the communities we serve.

Event Description

“Are You Smarter than a Crossroads Scholar?” is a uniquely Pittsburgh takeoff of the hit FOX TV quiz game show “Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?” and directly ties into our mission. Four Pittsburgh celebrities will each team with one of our best and brightest scholars. They will be asked to answer questions in standard high school subjects from a celebrity host - comedic actress Kimberly Richards, a long-time Pittsburgh favorite who has delighted audiences with over 800 hilarious shows at City Theatre. The format also includes entertaining opportunities for contestants to use a “cheat” and interact with the host, audience and each other for answers.

With celebrities from WDVE, KDKA, and WPXI featured in the event, we are excited about our social media reach potential, which also equates to added exposure for our sponsors. Our confirmed celebrity contestants are:

-Randy Baumann, radio host of the top-rated Randy Baumann and the DVE Morning Show
-Lisa Sylvester, weeknight anchor of WPXI Channel 11 News at 6 and 11 PM
-Lynn Hayes-Freeland, KDKA-TV News reporter and host of the Lynn Hayes-Freeland Show
-Emilio Cornacchione, co-owner of Izzazu Salon and Pittsburgh celebrity and film stylist
